Come see Pretty Penny this weekend. We will have 2000 botanical engrvavings and lithographs for sale

On June 24, four Rockland gardens will be open to the public as part of the Garden Conservancy’s Open Days Program, with another three open in Westchester. (For a full gallery of photos, go to lohud.com/LivingHere)
One of the most interesting gardens that will be open Sunday is the well-tended one that surrounds Pretty Penny, actress Helen Hayes’ longtime riverfront home on North Broadway in Nyack.

Last year, for the first time, the current owner, W. Graham Arader III, opened the grounds to the public, including Hayes’ beloved rose garden.
(A link to my blog post after a visit to Pretty Penny last year, with lots of photos.)
For the past seven years, Arader has been amassing a world-class collection of conifers — fir, hemlock, cedar, spruce, sequoia and false cypress. Mark Bloom of Oregon-based Bloom River Gardens has been leading the garden’s restoration, and he’ll be on hand with plants for sale.
