Ed Schneider is doing a brilliant job at BRIT - Botanical Research Institute of Texas.

Graham:

As you may know, Shirley Sherwood has been selected to be BRIT’s 2019 International Award of Excellence in Conservation recipient. She is excited about the news and is looking forward to coming to Fort Worth to receive the award at our gala ceremony. The date of the award event is the evening of Wednesday, October 2.  The evening of October 1 is a special private dinner for her hosted by BRIT’s vice chairman, Mr. Edward P. Bass.  Graham, this is a personal invitation for you to come to Fort Worth and attend both events.  Of course BRIT would cover your roundtrip, economy airfare, lodging, and meals.

As of this writing, Shirley has developed a medical condition and is uncertain if she will be able to travel to attend our Conservation Award event.
In the event that Shirley is unable to travel, we ask that you consider stepping into her place both nights and representing her in absentia.
If she does make the trip to Fort Worth we ask that you join her and attend the Tuesday night Bass dinner as a special guest.  For the Wednesday night gala award we ask that you consider becoming one of the presentation dignitaries on stage and interview Dr. Sherwood on stage, immediately after she receives the award by engaging her in a dialog on the value of botanical art and what curating it means to society.

The gala is typically attended by 250 + guests and it is an outstanding way to cap our year of Botanical Art theme.

Of special note, BRIT will be exhibiting the American Society of Botanical Artists’, “Botanical Art Worldwide: America’s Flora” from September 27 through.

Graham, I know you are fighting your own battle and hope your health permits you to consider this invitation.

Thanks again for all that you have and are doing for BRIT.

Ed
