Osama, Oil, Opportunity, Out of time, Oz
There are a lot of horrible people in the world doing terrible things to a lot of people.
Clearly the situation in Africa is the worst of all the continents. But the US government does not spend hundreds of billions trying to overthrow people or governments unless oil lies under their soil.
A steady supply of oil to the 350,000,000 people in the United States seems to be the overwhelming goal of many departments in our government. We spend 50% of our taxes to protect our oil supplies.
While it is wonderful that Osama bin Ladin is dead, kindly note that it took ten years and that 25% of the attacking helicopters used on the mission failed.
In short, the US has about 20 years left of supreme military power, wealth and good will before the rest of the world figures out that we are a "Wizard of Oz" country. Our frantic gesticulating that we care about doing the right thing is going to fall on deaf ears and our credit is going to zero. Oil remains the drug that we are addicted to and cannot function without! That has to change if we are to have a future.
There are better things for our government to do than create a steady supply of oil. This is an insane goal to have for over 60 years. There are vastly better goals for us to have than taking away oil from a bunch of Muslims that hate us.
