An Evening with Two Wonderful People

On Wednesday evening we were honored to have two esteemed members of the Library Science field at the gallery for a tour of our natural history rare book room, Mr. Tom Baione, the Harold Boeschenstein Director in the Department of Library Services at the American Museum of Natural History as well as Ms. Susan Fraser, the Director of the Mertz Library at the New York Botanical Garden.

As I strongly believe in the mission of both of these world class institutions, and admire their programs and facilities greatly, it was my pleasure to contribute $1,000 to each of their Libraries. It is my hope that they continue to thrive and develop for many decades to come.

Kate Hunter, our esteemed Rare Books Curator and expert, then gave a talk about some of our most enchanting color plate and watercolor natural history books. This was followed by a lovely dinner where we all got to know each other more intimately, share our knowledge and passion for natural history, and strategize ways to work together in the future.
