Putin is the most powerful man in the world, is a superb manager and isnt going anywhere. Russia could have not have transformed from what it was to what it is with any other man.
He is the greatest ally the United States has - he lets us use his airspace to get to Afghanistan, he backs our attempts to snuff out jihad, he agrees with the US on many fronts but like any great leader he wants to see the standard of living improve for HIS people.
Any tension between the US and Russia is all about the amount of natural resources that each population is able to use.
His passion to get oil, food, education, security for his people is the equal of any leader that has ever lived. Considering what he was handed, his skill at doing this is superior.
The world needs great managers. If we paid them 10 times what they are now getting, it would still be a bargain.
