Dear Harris

The art you see at Pettigru is what rich European have been hanging in
their homes for 500 years and what rich Americans have decorated with
for 300 years.

It is my feeling that seeing so many beautiful works of art EVERY day
makes a significant positive difference in the sensibilities of the
young.  What they see sets them apart for the good.

For this to exist at the University of South Carolina FOR EVERYONE
will give you something that no other American University has.  It
WILL make a difference.

Tom has told me that you want to continue this enhancement at Osborne.
Thank you.

It is also my feeling that seeing this art throughout the campus will
add a special glow to your University.  Yes, it is great to be able to
"find" this art in the Library and the Art Museum but to have it
everywhere gives EVERYONE that special visual educations.

Tom McNally is to be congratulated for being a Librarian that sees the
future, understands what is happening because of google and wikipedia
and embraces it.

Lastly signage is important. Competing with student's hand held
devices necessitates that we make the message of these works of art
understandable and alluring.  Design is key.  You have a brilliant
University architect who has impeccable style and a refined eye.  We
need him

Thank you for giving me this chance to work for you.

Best,

Graham
