Hi Graham,

I just had a nice talk with the donations people at CUNY central and BMCC and we are finally good to get started.  We are currently envisioning BMCC as the lead institution receiving probably the bulk of the art, but also including as many CUNY campuses as possible. If that suits you. Andrea Shapiro-David the lead person at CUNY central would like to talk with, I think Mike is the correct person, about some of the technical, legal details of the donation then Doris Holz at BMCC will handle most of the process from that point on. Would you like to be involved in that initial conversation, or should I just put Andrea and Mike in contact for now?

Thanks again for all of your help and generosity.

-David

Hi Graham,

Thanks for the recommendation. Honestly, if business is his goal I would suggest that the Stern School of Business at NYU is where he should really be looking.  If he want's to be at CUNY then Baruch is the college for him.

I know the biology chair there, but will look into what he should do to enroll.

It's kismet that you should ask today as I have finally got a meeting with the senior gift accepting people at CUNY central and BMCC Wednesday afternoon.  May I share your e-mail with them?  I will e-mail you Wednesday evening with the results of our meeting.

Thanks again for your interest and for thinking of me and following up.

-David

Hi David

I have a young man, Jiaming Z., who is very interested in attending college in NYC.

He is at high school in the United States but his parents live in Beijing. He is at school in Pennsburg, PA, about two hours from here.

He would like business to be his primary course of study.

His father will guarantee the implementation of our vision for CUNY if his son has a positive experience.

Is there a first step that you might suggest.

Also I would like to hear how far you have progressed on an idea for an art collection for your biology department.  Barney Lipscomb will again be speaking on Friday, December 5th.  Maybe you can arrange for some administration and other faculty to attend.  We would all then have dinner after the event.

Thank you David,

Graham
