A wonderful opportunity to be entertained and learn.

Wanted to be sure that the availability of Barney Lipscomb be stored in our collective memory.

His 35 minute lecture on the merger of art and science is extremely entertaining and informative.  The scientist in his lecture is Carl Linnaeus - the founder of the "System of Nature" ordering all living things and the artist is Pierre Redoute - the greatest botanical artist.   His talk on how the Empress Josephine brought the two of them together is brilliantly presented.

For the last 30 years Barney has been the curator of 1.4m plant specimens for Ed Bass's "Botanical Research Institute of Texas (BRIT) in Fort Worth.

What Barney speaks about has been my dream for all college students to learn for the last 40 years.

At any time you wish Barney will come to NY at my expense and give his illustrated talk to any group you think might be interested.  For anyone who loves the natural world this will best the best lecture they ever hear.
