Arader Galleries Auction Success and Prices Realized from September 17th, 2016

We are delighted to announce our first sale of the Fall season was an overwhelming success. The sale included 227 lots with including beautiful examples from Audubon's Birds and Quadrupeds, a varied offering of natural history works and a stunning collection of maps and views. The sale total was $3,097,287.

Highlights of the Audubon section of the sale included the White-Headed Eagle (Lot 3), which achieved $24,400 after a fierce round of bidding between several phone bidders. The Golden Eagle (Lot 6) sold for $15,000 and The Black-Bellied Darter (Lot 10) achieved an impressive $33,350. In the Quads, the Canada Lynx (Lot 34) sold for $5,490. 

Other highlights from the sale included the celebrated Bunting World Map (Lot 182) selling for $6,100. Louis' Evan's 'Ship Adrian' had considerable interest and achieved $11,590. Both the Der Fer map of California (Lot 129) and Bleau's Nova et Accuratissima Totius Terrarum Orbis Tabula (Lot 150) sold for a $9,760.
