Dear Mr. Dumolin,

It was my very great pleasure to meet you and your father during your recent visit to the Arnold Arboretum, and show you some gems from our rare book collection. As you saw with our copy of Jardin de la Malmaison, some of our volumes need extensive conservation but with generous contributions such as yours and Graham’s we will preserve this and our other outstanding books for future scholars.

You may be interested to know that we have just created the Library Collections Restoration Fund. This fund will receive gifts in support of restoration projects for materials in the collections of the Arnold Arboretum Library. To contribute to the fund, you may mail a check to:

I have copied Professor William ‘Ned’ Friedman, Director of the Arnold Arboretum, on this message. I know he will also be very appreciative of your kindness and generosity. I look forward seeing you both again soon and hope you may be able to visit in the spring when the grounds are especially lovely.

Best regards,

Lisa Pearson

Dear Mrs. Pearson,
My father and I had a wonderful time during our visit to your marvelous library and the Arnold Arboretum. We were astonished by the quality of your books, you and your team are really doing a great conservation work for future generations! We would love to help you with your great work. That is why we would like to make a contribution for the restauration of the book you have showed us so kindly. Is it possible for you to send us the information we need to send you a donation?
On our next visit we would like to visit the Harvard Business school if that would be possible.
Best regards,

Pierre (father) and Edouard (son) Dumolin
