what to do when a clients tells you they ONLY deal with someone else. my response to a dealer who told me he had a visitor who told him that she ONLY dealt with Arader Galleries.

Most of the time when collectors speak so aggressively it means they are just trying to get a rise out of their victim.  I certainly NEVER had a woman client who was a serious natural history book collector.  NOT ONE in 50 years. 

I remember walking into my gallery once following a client speaking to his mistress saying "watch me spin Arader around."  And the worst part was that he was not even slightly embarrassed when he discovered me behind him.

Learning has been the great reward for putting up with this type of behavior.
