Vaccination Requirement
As part of New York City’s Key to NYC program, all visitors to New York City museums are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19. In order to enter the Museum, all eligible members of your party will be required to show proof that you have been vaccinated with a vaccine approved by the World Health Organization and a matching photo ID for adults. Proof of vaccination may include a valid paper vaccination record, a photo of a valid vaccination record, the NYC COVID Safe App, or the New York State Excelsior Pass. As of January 29, all visitors ages 5 and up will be required to show proof of full vaccination.
Timed-Entry Tickets: Know-Before-You-Go
Please plan to arrive 5 minutes before your entry time and have your eticket or order confirmation ready, as well as your proof of vaccination and photo ID. Early and latecomers will be admitted only if space allows. Visitors who have purchased general admission tickets to the Museum must enter at Central Park West, unless they require the use of our accessible ramp at 77th Street.
We are committed to providing an exhibition space that is as safe as possible. For a full description of our safety protocols, please click here. Face masks are required for all employees and visitors older than age 2, regardless of vaccination status, and are available at no charge to anyone requesting them.
If you have experienced COVID-19 symptoms, tested positive, or been in contact with someone who has tested positive within the past 14 days, we ask that you please reschedule your visit. If you are having a problem with your online order or need to reschedule, please call the New-York Historical Society Call Center at (212) 485-9268.
An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. People visiting the New-York Historical Society do so at their own risk.
