The real David Swensen

 You all have been played propigating a myth created by David. When I rode with David from his home to the gym to play squash over 50 times for more than 10 years, he would be on the phone trading vast sums - at least over $1 billion in 20 minutes everytime. When I asked him what he was doing, he would laugh and say, "I buy low and sell high." That is how most of the money was made. Yale had one of the world's great natural traders making them over $40,000,000,000.

Alternative investments? He worked with Yale graudates that adored him and gave him special deals. That is over now.

He was a wonderful man who benefited an institution that he loved. He worked for less than 1% of what he would have made if he had been working for himself.

Yes, he has been recognized but no where near to the full estent he deserved.
