Why Buffet has $325 billion in cash with a company that has a market cap of $1.1 Billion

Warren Buffet has an IQ over 160 and may be the smartest man to ever  trade stocks.

Most great traders are happy when their bets are 55% right.

The chances of heightened war in the Ukraine, war in Taiwan and the Koreas, a violent overthrow in Venezuela are now enough for Buffet to believe that a major catastrophic man-made event will occur. That will cause markets to plunge.  The risks for a species ending calamity to occur in the next 6 months are now over 55% in his mind.  And that is the reason he is $325 billion in cash which is a third of his company's market cap.  His plan is to scoop up dollars for a quarter just like he did in 2008.

He has long said that there is a 100% chance that a nuclear device will be detonated within his lifetime.

Where is Buffet getting this information?  Why is he so sure that he is willing to deploy a great deal of his working capital in cash?

His primary source of information is in his neighborhood at an institution that employs the most sophisticated members of the Military tasked with protecting the United States from attack.  Yes, the US Strategic Command at Offutt Air Force Base is in Omaha, Nebraska.  And the people of Nebraska have showered the team there with respect, admiration, great eductations for their children and care since its founding on June 1, 1992.   Of course they are going to talk freely off the record especially to the richest man in town.

Why do I KNOW this?  Because I was sitting next to Warren at breakfast on September 11, 2001 at the Offutt Air Force Base 7 stories down with Admiral Richard Mies, the fourth commander in chief of USSTRATCOM.  On the TV we all saw the jets flying into the World Trade Center while eating our bacon and eggs.  I piped up, "Wow, that looks like serious damage"  I was quickly corrected by Admiral Mies, "That is ridiculous.  These planes will have the same effect as a gnat flying into a tree.  We are sending in rescue teams right now."

Buffet has now heard enough to convince him of the high probability that the $60 trillion in weapons systems (of which half are involved with nuclear bombs) in the world today will be employed.

There is a 45% chance that his "bet" will be wrong.  But all brilliant gamblers let the odds control their actions.  And Buffet is the greatest risk taker of all time since every other man worth over $50 billion makes products that are a benefit to humanity.  Buffet is a gambler - pure and simple.
