Joel Flieshman, Yale, Duke, Squash, University Admissions strategy

In 1971 Joel Fleishman asked me, the #1 squash player at Yale, for a game. He was the University Provost, absolutely charming and we had a good match and we became friends.

A year later he told me he was leaving Yale to work at Duke University for the express purpose of snatching the sons of very rich Yale Alumni who had been rejected by their father's school.

Joel's match play was indefatigable and I never thought for a second that he would fail. He clearly didn't

And now someone else from Duke has become a leading expert on this subject.
